Building the Future of Utah Through Child Care

On a busy October Saturday, more than a hundred child care providers from across the state of Utah gathered at the Karen Gail Miller Conference Center to attend the “Building a Sustainable Business” Child Care Summit. Traveling from as far as Price, Hyde Park and Hurricane to attend, participants were provided with opportunities to learn from each other in addition to hearing from a variety of guest speakers. The participants were invited to attend three out of the five available breakout sessions, which covered topics ranging from communication to classroom management techniques. One provider from Lehi stated she wished she had the opportunity to visit more sessions.  "Basically, I am glad I went. Climbing toward Career Goals: Lineworker Part-Time Pre-Apprentice Graduation

Congratulations to our newest L ineworker Pre-Apprentice graduates! This year's part-time group completed their year-long studies to accomplish their goal of becoming lineworkers while balancing work, family, and school. This diverse group included a legacy, an electrician, a stay-at-home dad, and a public works employee. Good luck out there, and we hope to see you back as apprentices next year! If you are interested in becoming a lineworker the Spring cohort is now accepting applications and great news their is funding available!
